Zaman Foundation’s state of the art water filtration plants ensure equitable access to clean and safe drinking water to underserved communities.
Our unique sustainability model empowers communities to take ownership of the plant through a participatory approach whereby the community donates*:
- 2-3 marlas of land
- 50% of solarization costs
- 100% of monthly maintenance costs
*We recognize the diverse contexts and needs of each community; our model is flexible and adaptable to the needs of local communities.
This year, we have also installed 5 deep water bore projects in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa based on this community model. One deep water bore serve 30+ households on a daily basis.
As of October 2025, we are providing over 205,000 people safe access to cleaning drinking water daily with approximately 13.3 million litres in average annual consumption through 47 water projects.
Our water projects are spanned across Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan.
We rigorously monitor the water quality of all projects. Our projects undergo regular maintenance, including prompt repairs for any faults and annual media filter changes, to ensure an uninterrupted supply.
By investing in community mobilization, utilizing renewable energy sources like solar power, and empowering communities, we are creating a sustainable model for clean water access that can be replicated across Pakistan.
