Zaman Foundation’s state of the art water filtration plants ensure equitable access to clean and safe drinking water to underserved communities. Currently, our water projects are providing over 150,000 people access to cleaning drinking water daily with approximately 9.8 million litres of clean water being consumed annually. Our water projects are spanned across Southern Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan.
Our unique sustainability model empowers communities to take ownership of the plant through a participatory approach whereby the community donates*:
- 2-3 marlas of land
- 50% of solarization costs
- 100% of monthly maintenance costs
*We recognize the diverse contexts and needs of each community; our model is flexible and adaptable to the needs of local communities.

At Zaman Foundation, we rigorously monitor the water quality of all plants. Our plants undergo regular maintenance, including prompt repairs for any faults and annual media filter changes, to ensure the consistent delivery of pristine drinking water.
By investing in community mobilization, utilizing renewable energy sources like solar power, and empowering communities, we are creating a sustainable model for clean water access that can be replicated across Pakistan.
